Isomerism

In this article I will start explain basic concept in biochemistry , and that is the isomerism .
I  will start explain 3 type on it and these include isomer, epimer and enantiomer .

isomer
compounds that has the same chemical formula but different structure ,like glucose ,galactose and  fructose, when you look with me at this image you will find that they has the same number of carbon ,hydrogen and oxygen atoms but with different configuration  , and this make them isomer of each other

epimer
is a type of isomer  when there are a differnet in only specific carbon atom example include galactose and galcose , there are
identical in every thing expect the location of OH

enantiomer
also known as d and L isomerism
In which pairs of structure are mirror image of each other
, example include D and L glucose , in D –glucuse the

And finally I love to talk about short point in biochemistry and that is cycliaton of monosaccharides

cyclization  of monosaccharides

only 1% of monosaccharides exist in linear form in human body , rather they are predominately exist in cyclic form
